With the help of previous donations received (for which we remain very grateful), 9 candidates completed the Intermediate Year and 16 the Foundation Year in August 2020; almost all of them have elected to progress to the next stage, this being the Qualifying Course and the Intermediate Year respectively. In addition we have 12 people who have joined the new Foundation Year.

We are reaching out again for donations to help sustain the next phases of the training; this being a rolling programme of a new Foundation Year, the Intermediate Year followed by the Qualifying Course (5 + years in all), and so on. This year the cohort is made up of 37 candidates.

Why do we need your support?

We are compelled to fundraise for several reasons. Our fund raising strategy is two fold. A little-and-not-so-often ‘crowd-funding’ model to help sustain the training, in the hope that a small regular sum will be manageable to friends, colleagues and well-wishers. But also, we hope that some individuals and institutions might be in a position to make a more substantial donation. We need to raise something in the region of $25,000 a year for the next five years.

About Hank Nunn Institute

Hank Nunn Institute (HNI) has been providing low-cost or no-cost individual and group psychotherapy for those in need since 2014. HNI supports its work primarily through fundraising but also through fees and training programmes. HNI uses a threefold approach wherein they develop carefully designed treatment programs, engage with the local community to create awareness, and offer academic and experiential training programs, all in their effort to create a sustainable community model to address the mental health needs in India. The ethos of the Hank Nunn Institute is a beacon of humanistic values that challenges the established cognitivist and bio-medical conventions that rule the Indian norm.
